I wanted this book to be something it isn't. What I needed was an exploration of how to enjoy travel. How to get into the right mindset to not fuss about the small stuff and what's left at home. And all of this is somewhere in here but not written in a way that made me want to read it.
It's more of a celebration of De Botton's travel than a guide to travel in general. I skipped most of the end because I just wasn't interested in more of what felt like a lot of navel-gazing. No offense.
