Ohhh, this was fun! The premise: What if a benevolent AI rules the world, made life into a utopia and humans immortal? How to deal with overpopulation?
The answer: Introduce so called scythes. A group of people who's job it is to "glean" (read: kill) people. We get to know the society of scythes, their rules and their two new apprentices, that try to find their way around a world they didn't have any insight into before.
