Weather

Marcel walks through strong wind on his way to pick up his winter jacket.

Yet another entry in my ever-growing collection of weather-related comics. I’m pretty sure I drew a very similar one at the beginning of the year.

If I keep this up for another ten years, I might eventually be able to make a little “walking through time” flipbook out of all of them.

Marcel sits under an umbrella on a rainy park bench, reluctant to let summer end.

If this comic diary sticks around for more than a year, you’ll eventually notice that I become full of self-pity every time summer comes to an end. I find it hard to accept that we’re in for half a year of cold and wet weather. I hate being cold. I’m also not particularly fond of the accompanying darkness. Fortunately, we’ve learned from past winters and are currently planning to spend some time somewhere with better weather this time around.

Marcel runs on a sunny path before the heat becomes unbearable.

The hardest days are the ones when my run is the only usable material for my comic journal. It feels like there are only so many ways I can draw on it (pun intended) without repeating myself. This one was a close call, and I was glad I found a way to tie it to the sweltering heat that shaped the rest of the day.

Marcel bends over on a grassy patch after a hot 12-kilometer run.

I actually had to take a nap later on. We even tried to stay in Zone 2, but it was harder than usual.

Marcel runs past newly green trees, then relaxes beside his laptop while coding features for his blog.

Coding became a lot easier once I didn’t have to do it myself anymore.
